14th Nov 08, Day 1 of 3
Ok, I was slightly late but did not miss anything, fortunately.
The first speaker was Mike Koenigs. Now this is a guy who works with Anthony Robbins on video marketing. That says a lot about his prowess in this area.
“How to Get Rich Online Driving Unlimited Free Traffic to Any Web Site or Business Quickly, Easily & Inexpensively with Web Video”
1. Traffic = $$$
This is clichéd but it’s the plain truth – you need traffic to generate $$ online.
2. Mike’s Content Creation Recipe – The 10 x 10 x 4 Formula
3. Why Video Works So Well
- 15 billion videos watched in the US every month
- 52% of all web traffic is video
- 200 million views per month for online video in the US
- Shows up quickly in search engines
This points highlight why video marketing is increasingly important to internet marketers. Since we’re always trying to bring in more traffic and improve our search engine rankings, this is an area that people can tap on.
4. How I Made a Fortune Online (and you can too with Access)
Mike was sharing here that what separates you (and your products/services) and the universe of prospects is the media and distribution.
What it means for you is this – you have something to offer, and there are always people who want/need what you can offer. Question is, how do you reach out to these people?
5. The Marketing Funnel
The marketing funnel is a way of looking at your marketing efforts.
The funnel is shaped wider at the top and get narrower towards the bottom. Basically, at the top of your marketing funnel will be the items that you are able to provide for free to your customers. A free ebook, audio book, report, etc. Something that will let your prospect slide further down the funnel, which allows him/her to see if he has further needs/wants to be fulfilled.
There are two objectives of offering a freebie :
- To collect info from a potential customer.
- To make them familiar with you or your product, which makes them more comfortable with buying from you.
Note that this is not meant to be manipulative – the basic premise is that you truly have a good product that can provide real value to your target market.
As it is with the concept of a funnel, many will enter at the top but few will slide all the way to the bottom (no sexual connotations!). The ones who reach the bottom are your high value customers. The range of products that you offer along the funnel ensures that you cater to as many people as possible who are interested in your product, but with varying degrees.
6. The Secret to Getting Media Distribution & Attention (Know-How)
So now we know that we need to get our traffic in. How do we do that?
- Video Sites (www.youtube.com, www.metacafe.com, etc.)
- Social Bookmarking (www.digg.com, www.stumbleupon.com, etc.)
- Social Networks (www.facebook.com, www.myspace.com, etc.)
- Blogs
- Podcasts
Search engines look at all the above. By building a myriad of links and backlinks, you open the floodgates for massive traffic. The only thing is, you’ll need quite a fair bit of work to do so
This is what Mike Koenigs TrafficGeyser (no affiliate link) does for you automatically.
7. Podcast Content
Podcasts can also be used to distribute content which will boost your traffic. You could distribute teleseminars, webinars, interviews, training, etc.
8. The Content “Value Chain”
- SPAM-Vertising
- Advertising
- Marketing
- Education
- Edutainment
- Entertainment
- “Family” – Insider, Partner, Friend, Confidant
It is important to know the value that you’re providing to your target market. The list above shows at what level you can engage your audience.
9. So, What Does It Take to Win?
- Get Inside A Customer’s Head (To solve a problem/goal/question)
- Show A Solution With Video
- Provide Proof It Works
- Make An Offer
- Call To Action
10. The 10 x 10 x 4 Formula
How do you move a prospect from ignorance to a qualified prospect, then a buyer? And you going from a salesman to an authority, a trusted advisor and a friend?
You have to prepare yourself to be able to answer what they want to know, as well as what they don’t know they should know.
Simply put, you need to have these :
- 10 Frequently Asked Questions
- 10 Questions They Should Ask
Mike also says this “Rich people do simple things (that work) over and over again.”.
And 4 simple things you need to do – to prepare 4 videos :
- After your 20 questions, include a “To Get More, Go Here” video
- “Sign up to get all 20 videos”
- “Thank You For Signing Up” Video
- “Buy My Stuff” Video
11. What It WIll Do For You
When you follow Mike’s 10 x 10 x 4 Formula, it
- Gets you MASSIVE Immediate Exposure & Distribution (20 x 70 sites x 4 submissions = 5,600 outbound objects minimum)
- Builds Your List with Lead Pages
- Establishes YOU As a credible Expert & Authority, Educates, Informs, Entertains and Builds Rapport with your prospective audience so they feel a sense of connection with you and buy your stuff.
The only issue is the manual labor involved in all these, which is why Mike Koenig came up with the TrafficGeyser system.

Next up : Stephen Pierce.

Wow! These stuff is really good! I hope that I was there. Hmm… 24 videos in total and submitted to many sites.
There’s a free video submission that submit to a few video directories too. The free service is at TubeMogul.com. I’ve used it for around 8 videos but not getting much traffic yet. Did he mentioned what to do to get more people to view our videos? My videos are only viewed by less than 200 times for all the 8 videos.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for stopping by.
I don’t recall Mike saying much about publicizing our videos but I reckon we could do it using the usual methods, social networks, etc. Actually I thought of the videos as more of publicity tools to drive traffic to our websites.
Mike Koenigs mentioned the other day that videos get picked up by the search engines pretty quickly, so it’s supposed to help us get traffic faster.
cheers
Daniel

Hi Rod,
That’s an interesting idea. One of the questions people usually have is what videos to create and use in their marketing efforts.
Claymation videoes are fun, albeit tedious. Must have taken you a lot of time for those.
cheers

@ Daniel,
Hi Daniel, thanks for replying me. You haven’t been updating about the rest of the SMART seminar. Must be busy taking action on what you’ve learned. How was it? Did you signed up anything? I took up a course.
@ Fadzuli,
I have videos on my blog. You can have a look by clicking on the video in the category. Not getting much traffic. Either I’m not skillful enough or it doesn’t work that easily when it comes to video marketing.

Hi Alex,
Yup, been busy with my offline work. Gosh, I had actually wanted to post at least every alternate day.
The next post is in my “drafts” already though, will publish the rest asap. =)
Nope I didn’t sign up for anything eventually though I was quite keen on Stephen Pierce and Anik Singal’s stuff.
cheers
